# About TrackReels

> Who runs TrackReels, what the data is, where every number on the site comes from, and how under-18 athletes are protected.

TrackReels is a track and field recruiting site: athletes post the race, with the mark, the date, the wind reading and the timing method attached to it.

## What this site is

A results database gives a coach a number and asks them to trust it. TrackReels gives them
the number and the race behind it, with the conditions attached, so they can judge the run
rather than the row. Every upload requires the event, the mark, the date, the wind and whether
the time was hand held or fully automatic before it will post.

## Who runs it

TrackReels is independently operated from the United Kingdom. It is not affiliated with the
NCAA, the NAIA, the NFHS, World Athletics, or any state athletic association. Support reaches a
human at [support@trackreels.io](mailto:support@trackreels.io), and the postal
address is available on request from that address.

## Where the numbers come from

Every conversion factor and every recruiting standard on this site is transcribed from a
published source, cited on the page that uses it, with the date it was last checked. Nothing is
estimated, interpolated or invented, and where no standard is published the site says so

## Athletes under 18

Most athletes here are 13 to 18 years old, and the site is built on that basis: real names
and real marks only, no contact details or off-platform handles in profiles or messages,
screening on every upload and every message, and a parental appeal route through the support

## Free, and what that means

Rankings are never paywalled. A profile, bulk mark entry, the leaderboards and every
converter are free to use and free to appear on.
